January 26, 2025 Transition Team Update

We are pleased to share that the Transition Team has completed the ELCA’s Ministry Site Profile. It is an important step in calling our next lead pastor. This document serves as a description of who Good Shepherd is and what we are looking for in the next leader of our congregation. The profile has been reviewed and approved by our Church Council.

On February 9, the Minneapolis Area Synod Bishop, Jen Nagel, will join us for worship. The congregation is invited to stay after worship to join her in reviewing the Ministry Site Profile as she provides us with information about the call process as we move forward.

Thank you to the Good Shepherd staff and all of you who participated in the listening sessions last fall. That feedback has helped the team formulate responses in the Ministry Site Profile. A special thanks to those on the Transition Team, Pastor Deb Bergstrand, Andrea Brandt, Craig Brandt, Janet Dietrich, Ian Johnson, Susan Kratz, Renee May, Julie Omland, Walt Polley, David Quello, Pastor Peter Samuelson, and Amanda Sykora for their work. Through the six-month process, the team enjoyed working together to describe the great community and special place Good Shepherd is for all of us. We believe we are well-positioned to attract and call the next leader of our church.
