August 26, 2024 Pastoral Update

Dear friends in Christ, 

This week, we welcome back Pastor Deb Bergstrand! Pastor Deb will be serving in a part-time role as our Interim Executive Pastor. We are so thankful for her willingness to continue to share her gifts with our congregation! Her summer has been filled with many adventures so we look forward to hearing her stories! On September 3, Pastor Peter Samuelson will join us in his role as our Interim Senior Pastor. Pastor Peter will start with us on a part-time schedule while he completes a previously scheduled part-time interim ministry commitment with another congregation. He will be with us full-time near the end of October. While we won’t see Pastor Peter on Sundays until late October, rest assured that he will be actively engaged in all aspects of church leadership and ministry each week. 

The Transition Committee’s work began this summer. More information will be shared soon about that work, including opportunities for the congregation to participate. The co-chairs of the Transition Committee are Janet Dietrich and David Quello.

Rally Week is right around the corner with a lot of ways to be together as a community and to serve! On Rally Sunday, we have a special plan to “burn the mortgage” in celebration of paying off our debt, thanks to the generosity of this congregation!

In the midst of the excitement of Rally Day and the promises ahead for our congregation, we mourn the death of Pastor Karl Jacobson and continue to send prayers for comfort to his family through the promise of Christ Jesus.
